Travel Sized Deodorant DYI Travel Hack

Have you noticed that store-bought travel-sized deodorants aren’t actually very travel-sized?  They also don’t have much product in the container and they take up way too much space in the TSA approved 2-quart bag.   Another problem with travel-sized deodorant is the amount of deodorant inside will not even last a full week… I found that one out the hard way when I ran out of deodorant on my very first vacation in the Dominican Republic.  If all of these issues aren’t enough there is still one more left and to me, it is the biggest problem of all – My favorite brand doesn’t come in travel-sized!

Today I decided to try to do something about it!

Here’s how it all went down:

The first thing I did was find these really small deodorant containers:

I collected the rest of my supplies:

I then sliced off the top of my regular sized deodorant,  placed it in a glass measuring cup, and microwaved it for 30 seconds. I took it out, stirred, and continued microwaving in 10 to 15-second increments until the deodorant was smooth and runny enough to pour.

Once the mixture was runny enough to pour I just poured it into my plastic container and let it sit for a while. It took about 20 minutes for my deodorant to become solid again.

After that, II just wiped off the excess from the outside of the container with a paper towel and smoothed the top of the deodorant with my finger.

THAT WAS EASY!  just like magic I now have a brand-new travel deodorant in my favorite brand that is also small enough to go anywhere my next adventure may lead!!

This whole process was very simple and I think it turned out perfect! If you are traveling in the near future give this a try! Don’t forget to leave a comment letting me know how it worked for you!

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
