Music Monday ~ Your Love Has a Hold on Me

Hello and Happy Music Monday!

Today’s Music Monday song is ‘Dead Man Walking’ by John Tibbs.

I heard this song for the first time about 3 weeks ago and it has now become one of my favorite songs. I love this song because it reminds me of how much different the life I live now is compared to the life I used to live.

There are so many things in life that can get a hold on us and drag us down.

For me a lot of things had a hold on me,  but the thing that seemed to be at the root of it was my social anxiety.

There used to be a time in my life when social anxiety had a really huge hold on me and it pretty much ruled my life.  I used to spend a lot of time avoiding people and running away.

But not anymore.

Since Jesus came into my life when I feel the panic of social anxiety creeping in, instead of running away I pray and His peace usually comes.

If for some reason I have a really bad day, He always gives me the strength to keep moving forward instead of continuing to live where I used live.

Social anxiety no longer has a hold on me because now Jesus holds me, and I hold on to Him.

His love truly has set me free!

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

Whether it be addiction, guilt, shame or anxiety … No matter what it is, know you can lay it all down at the feet of Jesus and know that His love really  will set you free.
