His Gift

Every single sin that I have ever committed Jesus died on the cross for.  He died for all of my lies, greed, gluttony, broken promises, hate, lust, envy, fear, drunkenness, judging, addictions, selfishness, gossip, cheating, prejudice, laziness,  and pride.

He hung on that cross feeling all of the shame and the pain that should be mine.  When they came to get Him to torture Him He did not hide in fear.  He was not afraid of the pain he would have to bear.  He took it all every single bit of it, to save my life.  How do I go about my life ignoring what He did? He put on the garments of my sins and wore them for all the world to see.

It’s hard to think about His suffering isn’t it?  For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

That’s a huge gift He gave me.  It’s the biggest gift anyone could give anyone ever.  How do I repay that gift?   Do I show my thankfulness in my actions? Do I take up my cross daily?  Do I show Him to the world in the way I live?  Do I wear his kindness, compassion, caring, honesty, kept promises, goodness and generosity?   Do I wear Him as he wore me?  Do I show Him to others in everything I do? Or do I keep it a secret?   Do I worry about what others may think of me because I chose Him?  Will I worry about the suffering I may have to bear for choosing Jesus?

What would have happened if Jesus had been afraid of the shame and suffering He would have to bear?   What if He had hid?  What if He had not stepped up for me?  What if He had not stepped up for you?

Mark 8:34-35  Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.  For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.

Hi T, what a heart warming message and yes what a wonderful gift we have in Jesus Christ. Like you T I don’t carry around shame anymore, I’m forgiven but I will never take lightly hurting God, others and myself, to do so would mean I haven’t learnt from my sin and I may be tempted to judge others harshly when they sin. I’m sure if I had been around when Paul was on earth he could not of said he was the worst of sinners but the Truth is until we can say this about ourselves, we have not repented from the heart, when we hurt God and others in anyway we are the worst of sinners, we have broken all the Law, especially the Law of Love, this is why we needed Jesus to redeem us, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and we broke His heart when He was separated from His beloved Heavenly Father on the Cross and it was all because of our sin.

One of the hardest lessons I needed to learn, was Loving those who hurt me or hurt those I Love deeply like God, nothing makes me more mad then when anyone including Christians claim He does evil or agrees with it to bring good out of it, we are not to accept this slander as you said we are to stand up against all evil and share God’s Love regardless of the cost so we are still to Love those who do evil or speak evil even if we hate their words and actions.

Luke 6 : 27- 28 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

    Christian Love Anne.

Yes Anne that was a hard lesson to learn for me too, to love those who hurt me or those I love, how can I expect God to forgive me if I can not do the same and forgive others myself? Thank you for reading 🙂

I don’t eve want to begin to imagine the “what if Jesus did not step up for me”. Really, smiles aside…I don’t…because I know with all my heart – if I was still alive…I’d be groveling in my own self-destruction!
I would be the biggest looser – without Him!

We have all wondered what it would be like to stand in the face of God on Judgement day with the answer. when He asks us the biggest question that we must answer.
Why should I let you into Heaven. Honestly their are so many answers that we can give. But when the time comes are we going to be able to say it or are we not going to be able to say anything.

Hi balding 2, I hope T wont mind me answering for her, I hope she is ok, she normally replies to comments, I think I will e-mail her later. I hope you don’t mind my responding to your comment either, we do it all the time in Australian Blogging.

I feel it is so sad for you to have this fear about Judgment as a Christian, when there is no need to if you have indeed repented and accepted the free gift of Salvation turning from evil and doing good. To explain why you don’t need to have fear please click the link below it will help you to have assurence in God’s promises and His grace and mercy, the Scriptures also tell us The Spirit gives assurence that we are Children of God when we have been Born Again, you can’t loose Salvation once you really have it.

It is good you want to reason Balding2soon, it is something God asks us to do when we do not agree but we are to do so by using His Truth not man’s understanding or popular songs, yes some have great Truth but some have error as they too are based on what man thinks not on God’s Truth in the Scriptures and we can indeed know what His Truth is and His plans for us are, when they are understood by The Spirts empowering as Jesus our only Teacher leads us into all Truth.

Perhaps this is not the place to reason together Balding2soon although I did email T but I will share a few detailed Scriptures that explain how we can know God’s Truth and if followed you will then realise why God will not be asking us why He should let us into Heaven but also feel free to contact us on our e-mail, it is in our About. I will also leave another link for you.

Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

James 15: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

1 Corinthians 2:9-16 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that Love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with Spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned. But he that is Spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the Mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? but we have the Mind of Christ.

John 15:14-15 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.(KJV)

Matthew 10:26-28 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops (KJV)

As far as my comment about The Lord asking The biggest question that we all should have to answer. As I said there are many answers for the one question. Do we really know if He is going to ask the question. No we don’t but if He should ask, don’t we think it would be great to have an answer for the ONE that gave us Life and gave HIS SON for our sins.
Think about it there are so many questions that we have answers for and so many more questions without answers. Which God has left unanswered for a reason. Is this one of these questions we have that we don’t have an answer for?

I am confused as to where I am to comment to answer all this so I hope both Anne and Balding2soon get this.. I am pretty new to the Bible so I do not claim to be an expert and I also know I never will be one anyway because only God knows all the answers. But I just feel like I should put in my 2 cents for what its worth. The mercyme song I can only Imagine is exactly what I was thinking when I read Balding2soon’s first comment I just love that song and it brings me to joyful tears when I think about that day, It will be so amazing and wow! I also think that we could be asked questions about why we did what we did in our earthly lives. Maybe God may ask why should I let you in? I do know that because we are saved once we have professed Jesus as our Savior we for sure do get into Heaven but what if he would say “so T why do you think I should let in you into Heaven?’ How would I answer that? I know I would still get in But I still do see that we will be judged and I for one am not proud of the way I have always lived my life. I also still sin ever single day and to stand before God and have to say it to His face seems rather scary and down right embarrassing, though I do know he already knows it all. I would use the analogy of like when I was a child and I already knew that my parents knew I had done wrong but had to admit it anyway it was always pretty darn embarrassing and I always knew I was in big trouble but even more trouble if I were to lie. I also knew that no matter what I did wrong I would always be forgiven and that they still loved me but I always got my punishment to fit my crime.. I know that God already knows what I have done and yes I have already been forgiven but I do see in the Bible we will be judged one day for what we have done, This is my thoughts on the matter ONLY God knows all the answers. I also believe we all walk with God in our own way and are at different places and maturity in our faith. Who am I to tell someone else they are wrong. I have thought I was right about a lot of things and as I grew I change my mind. Anyway, I just really am so very thankful for what Jesus has done for us all and that is what the post was about, we are all working for the same common goal that goal is to further the kingdom of God.

Romans 14:11-12 It is written:“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

2 Corinthians 5:9-10 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Thanks for reading and all your input, May God bless you both

T we need to Trust the Scripture and believe what they tell us and not reject them because they don’t agree with what we think or have been taught, or a feel good song that may have some Truth but also has error as the Scripture I shared before confirms.

Yes I understand your confusion I also was confused by wrong teaching for many years, such as being told we continue to sin after we have been Born again of God’s seed but as you can see below this is not True, when we have put the flesh to death which causes us to sin and have been perfected in Love and so have the mind of Christ we don’t sin or choose to sin.

The Scriptuers on my links T and those I shared here answer your statments very clearly and as I said to you before by e-mail we are indeed Judged and are accountable but this is on earth not in Heaven and not for sin if we are indeed in Christ Jesus. We all have weaknesses and shortcommings which is what sadly many think are sins and so feel condemed.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man/woman of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

When we ask for God’s wisdom T wholeheartdly we understand Salvation, Jesus teaches us all Truth by the empowering of the Holy Spirit and yes we are to help each other Mature as the Body of Christ, we can see this in the Scriptures and as you can also see, this may mean correcting error, it is not Love to allow others to continue to be deceived and so to teach others the error they believe.

1John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he “cannot ” go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.

1John 5:18-20 We know that no one who is Born of God sins; but He who was Born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

John 8:34-36 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

The Scriptures tell us untill we are Born again of The Spirit and have God’s Nature and the mind of Christ, 1Corinthians2:9-16 and understand God’s will for us, we are under grace but if we continue to sin it shows we have never come to True heart repentance and so accepted the free gift of Salvation in Christ Jesus, although we may still do so, repentance is not of the head but the heart and will be shown in our lives, we will want to put the flesh to death that causes us to sin and hurt God others and ourselves.

Colossians 3:4-6 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

I couldn’t have said it any better, I grew up in numerous homes and each one went to different denominations, so not just the confusion of the different teaching but I didn’t always go to church so I am also not very well acquainted with the Bible either. As for as the comment towards the top about judging others there is a verse Matthew 7:4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? Don’t get me wrong (in no way am I judging you) being new to the Bible can be scary but I know some maybe more than I even realize and my
wife is 14 yrs older than me, I think between the three of us we can get the answers and help each other.

I forgot to mention T …God won’t be asking why He should let us into Heaven either, He knew we were coming before we were conceived and so chose us to be conformed into the image of Jesus and He does not break His promises or make false claims so we will indeed be complete, what He will say is …

Matthew 25:23 Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things enter thou into the Joy of thy Lord.

Hi balding2soon, this will be my last response to you and T on this Post, I don’t argue about man’s fleshy worldly understanding instead I share and stand up for God’s Truth, it is your choice if you accept it or reject it.. We are to follow the example of those faithful Christians in the early Church who made it possible for us to have God’s Truth written in the Scriptures as He inspired them.

    2 Timothy 4:2-3 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

In response to the Scripture you shared, It is True we are not to judge others weaknesses and shortcomings, we have our own or are we to judge anyone with our own worldly fleshy understanding because we are judging ourselves but as the Scriptures I shared tells us we are to judge others with Love and for Love using God’s Truth, if they continue to sin and yet claim they are Christians, then we are to rebuke and warn them, it is not Love to watch someone destroy themselves which is what sin does to us spiritually.

If we want to mature balding2soon then we need to seek God with all our heart and not Trust in our own understanding or others, only Jesus has all the answers and as the Scriptures I shared before and the one below tell us, He will teach us all things so we can share them with others.

Matthew 10:26-28 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops (KJV)

May God bless you and those close to you.
