I Do Not Like Pinterest…or Do I?

Could it really already be week three of Blog month?  Time sure does seem to be flying by really fast lately.  I told you 3 weeks ago that September is blog month at  Compassion and during this month a group of us bloggers (called Compassion bloggers) are trying to help 3,108 children find sponsors by using our blogs.  Each week we are given an assignment to blog about in what ever way we feel led to blog.

I have to admit when I recieved my assignment this week I was not liking it at all.   The assignment was to introduce my blog readers a Pinterest contest.  If you would like to see the assignment you can click Here. I have never been one to like contests and my blog is not about that sort of thing plus I do not like Pinterest!  When I saw the assignment I thought what on earth will I do with this!  Needless to say I have been procrastinating about writing it and thinking possibly I maybe would not do the assignment at all this week.

Since you are reading this I am pretty sure you have figured out by now that God set me straight as he always does.   He led me to realize I was procrastinating because the contest made me uncomfortable and I did not like it.  I think maybe I am finally starting to figure out that whenever I do something for God I do have to say my comfort and whether I like it or not  is not really the important thing.  Besides, I should never have been procrastinating about something of such importance as children in need.

Part one of the assignment is we are supposed to go to website Pinterest and enter a contest by creating a page about our sponsored child.  I am not a big fan of Pinterest.  A few months ago I started an account  there but I have never really gotten into the whole ‘pinning’ thing.  I never could see a point to it or why I would want to spend hours pinning stuff to some odd cyber pin up board.

To my surprise when I signed into Pinterest to do the assignment I realized I had started a Compassion board about my sponsored children a long time ago. So yay! part one was already done!  or so I thought….I started looking at the board and that led to more pinning and the next thing I knew I had been pinning on Pinterest for hours!  I really do not want to admit this but I think I may have even enjoyed it.  So if you have never ‘pinned’ on Pinterest  consider yourself  warned … pinning is very time consuming, addictive and also FUN 🙂

Part two of the assignment is that I am supposed to tell my fellow bloggers about the Pinterest contest in a blog post,  I am pretty sure I  just covered that if you missed it you can reread what you just read which I am sure you will be thrilled to do again 😀  or you can click here for the information 🙂

Assignment finished right??

No its not, this part is not part of the assignment. I just want to let you know I never started blogging to win any contests or prizes.  The only reason I ever started blogging in the first place  is because I feel like God wanted me to start a blog and talk about Him. I never blog just to blog and I only write when I feel prompted by Him.  Since I found Him He has changed my life.  There is nothing like the peace and the joy that is found in Jesus.

I also I feel God placed those children from Compassion on my heart.  So for just this month I am doing a blog assignment emailed to me by someone else….or is it really sent by another person??   Could it be that he put that assignment on the heart of the people at Compassion and then they pass it on to other people and it spreads and spreads and more and more children find the sponsors they are praying for? Of course it is 🙂

When we started September blog month the goal was 3,108 children sponsored.  In just 2 weeks time 1,515 children now have sponsors! WOW that is 1,515 children who will have someone to tell them about Jesus, 1,515 children who now have someone to tell them they are loved, 1,515 children who’s lives will be changed for all eternity and they will now know Jesus, that my friend is the best prize of all!

If you would like more information on how you can help release a child from poverty and tell them about Jesus you can click here — Compassion International.  Your love and support will help a child receive the assistance they need to help them develop to their potential.  If you can not sponsor a child will you please go to the page and pray for them.

Thank you so much for reading and God bless you 🙂

Matthew 19:14  Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Proverbs 31:8-9  Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.  Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Hi T, I think it’s wonderful the number of Children who now have someone to care for them, I’m looking forward to sharing with Nayeli and like you said, I will share with her that she is greatly Loved.

Take Care T a wordly focus starts from a wordly focus, I believe in reaching out to help those in need very much and do so and will continue but not at the expence of God’s guidlines, it’s not about our winning wordly prizes, but God’s light shinning in the darkness … God’s work done in His way never lacks His supply, as you can see with the outcome of all those Children finding Sponsers just by Blogging but He tells us our good deeds are not to be done for reward or aclaim, but in priviate not meaning people can’t or wont know but what is our heart motivation, this is our closet

Love you T in The Lord – Anne

Hi T, I have no doubt where your heart is and knew before Compassion, you are a beautiful, caring Christian woman, seeking with all your heart to know the will of God because you Love Him and His Children and want to obey Him and He delights in you as He does all His Loving Children. He tells me to do as my heart says not what fleshy man tells me, no matter how good it may sound but if I take my eyes off Him then it does become head not heart.

People put down the Awards as seeking our own glorification but once again it’s about the heart attitude, I do as I feel lead and when I feel lead and I believe strongly in outwardly encouraging and uplifting each other, it is also what God asks us to do but it needs to be sincere not flattery, which like Sacharine leaves a bitter after taste, perhaps some over the years have been disoluionsed, I know I have been hurt by those who said they cared but didn’t, I guess we have to move on in Love and forgivenness.

Thanks for just being you T – Christian Love Anne

Sorry about the spelling my spell check is not working.
