A Story By Me

“I got your letter today, Though I have never met you I feel as if I know you and I love you” ~ T

If you would have told me three years ago I would be a child sponsor I would have told you that you were nuts. Approximately two and a half years ago a friend of mine asked me if I would consider sponsoring a child through Compassion, I told him no. My excuse I gave myself was that there are a lot of children in my own country who are poor and need help. The problem with that excuse was I was not helping anyone in my own country either. No matter what I told myself I still felt something pulling me to the children he had spoken of. The more I tried to push it away the more I began to find myself intrigued with the…

Hi T, what a wonderful Blessing Compassion is, we were with them for 20 years until we joined a Church that also sponsored Children with a well known but different Christian Organisation but after being with them for many years and writing to my Children regularly, I was grieved greatly to be told I was not allowed to talk about Jesus anymore in my letters, I later found out they would loose some rebate if we Sponsors did so, they then censored our letters and took out all mention of Jesus. I now sponsor Children in Zambia but miss writing to them, their carers are just unable to cope with this, having limited staff – see link below

I will be in contact with you T in the next few days, God bless you greatly for your Love and commitment to these Children, we will pray like you do, that many will come to know the Joy of touching a Child’s life with Jesus’ Love and Compassion.

Christian Love from both of us – Ron and Anne.

Oh no that is so sad, without Jesus there is no hope 😦

The reason Compassion has been around for over 50 years is because Jesus is the Center of their ministry. We visited them last week and toured their facility in Colorado Springs where we were absolutely amazed at just how committed to Jesus and those children they are. They have passed up organizing in certain Countries because of the fact that they were asked to drop Jesus, They refuse to drop Jesus, He is and always will be the primary focus or the ministry. Without Jesus there is no hope, these children not only need help financially but most of all they need to know Jesus.
Another cool thing about Compassion is they have sponsor trips that the sponsors can go on to meet their sponsored children. This March my husband and I are going on one of their sponsor trips to Haiti where we will get to meet Thierry who is one of our sponsored children. I am so excited and can not wait to get to meet him!

Here is a link to what makes
Compassion distinct from other organizations if you would like to see it. http://www.compassion.com/about/what-makes-us-distinct.htm

Thank you for reading Anne and Ron and God bless you
